Protein/Carb: Quinoa pancakes (from recipe on Bob’s Red Mill website)

Veggie: Carrots

Fruit: Banana

This is also an example of one of our GFCFSF rotation diet school lunches.

GFCF Valentine’s Day Treats

As anyone with a child on the GFCF diet knows, holidays can be painful. Especially the ones that revolve solely around candy. This year, we traded our daughter the bags of loot she brought home from pre-school for what felt like Yummi Earth’s entire product line. But what about the chocolate? Where on earth are the heart-shaped boxes filled with GFCF chocolates? To my knowledge, they don’t exist, so we had to come up with another way to express our love the way pre-schoolers think it needs to be expressed on Valentine’s Day. While these treats aren’t as easy as picking up the box from the drugstore, they are simple, delicious, and worth the little bit of effort. What’s better, there’s plenty of room to improvise with your child’s favorite dried fruits, nuts or cereals and use these for any candy-centric holiday.
